Registration is now open for the second New York Hakka Conference to be held in Chinatown, August 4-6, We are excited to launch our registration page featuring a preliminary list of workshops! More will be added in the next weeks about keynote speakers, Hakka Achievement Awards winners, the conference gala dinner and special hotel rates!!
Please take a look at the partial list of workshop topics which includes a special presentation by both Hakka Chinese and Taishan Chinese about a project we developed after visiting a Havana, Cuba, Chinese cemetery. Additional workshops include story-telling by Hakka authors NYU Professor Tao Leigh Goffe and detective mystery novelist Henry Chang, creator of the "Chinatown Trilogy;" and genealogy sessions including one on oral, written and video narratives training and another on roots research.
