Tsung Tsin Association is pleased to announce we have received funding under the Government of Canada's New Horizons for Seniors Program for our Seniors Empowerment Series.
This federal grants and contributions program supports projects that are led or inspired by seniors who are making a difference in the lives of others in their communities.
The funds have been used to support the seniors in our association through a healthy aging process by providing exercise programs and seminars to help them navigate the challenges of everyday life. In the past few months we have had an open house for the line dancing and tai chi classes, started a 12 week muscle strengthening exercise program, provided 8 weeks of pickleball coaching lessons, two seminars - the first was on independent living and the second on healthy nutrition, and purchased a ping pong table.
Line dancing, tai chi lessons and the muscle strengthening classes will continue as usual and pickleball recreational sessions will also continue until March 2025. Four more seminars are slated for the upcoming months and members will be informed of them.
Thank you to the Government of Canada New Horizons for Seniors Program for the funding support. It will make a significant difference in the lives of seniors in our community.
